Download the app
On your Android phone, open this page in Chrome and tap Download for Android. If Chrome says the file might be harmful, tap Download anyway: it's our own app, not from the Play Store.
- 2
Allow installs from Chrome (once)
Tap Open. Android says it can't install apps from this source: tap Settings, switch on Allow from this source, then go back.
Settings path if you need it: Settings › Apps › Chrome › Install unknown apps.
- 3
Install
Tap Install, then Open. If Play Protect asks about an unknown app, tap More details › Install anyway.
- 4
Sign in
Tap Continue with Google. Your browser opens for Google: pick your account. It brings you straight back to the app, signed in. New here? The owner approves you first; you get an email.
- 5
Allow notifications
Tap Allow so we can tell you when your shorts are ready.
- 6
Find your way around
Five tabs at the bottom: Auto Shorts (fastest), Studio (pick moments yourself), My shorts, Guide (how everything works) and Account.
- 7
Post a short
My shorts › Post… › tap Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X, LinkedIn or Threads. The app opens with your video and the caption copied. Updates: Account › Update.
Something went wrong?
"App not installed": free up some space and try again. If an older copy came from somewhere else, uninstall it first.
Chrome won't open the file: open the Files app › Downloads and tap the .apk there.
Sign-in doesn't come back to the app: on the browser page tap Open the app. The link works once, for 3 minutes; tap Continue with Google again if it expired.

On your computer: get iTunes and Sideloadly
iPhones only run apps signed with an Apple ID; the free Sideloadly app does that for you. On Windows, install iTunes from apple.com (not the Microsoft Store version), then Sideloadly from sideloadly.io. On a Mac, Sideloadly alone is enough.
- 2
Download the iPhone app
On the computer, click Download for iPhone on this page. You get a file ending in .ipa.
- 3
Connect the iPhone
Plug the iPhone into the computer with its cable. On the iPhone tap Trust and enter your passcode.
- 4
Install with Sideloadly
Drag the .ipa into Sideloadly, type your Apple ID e-mail, check that your iPhone is selected, press Start. Enter your Apple ID password (and the code Apple sends) when asked. Wait for Done.
- 5
Trust your Apple ID on the iPhone
Settings › General › VPN & Device Management › your Apple ID › Trust.
- 6
Turn on Developer Mode (iOS 16 and later)
Settings › Privacy & Security › Developer Mode › on › Restart. After the restart tap Turn On and enter your passcode.
- 7
Open and sign in
Open Shunayika from the home screen and tap Continue with Google. iOS asks to use the website to sign in: tap Continue, pick your Google account, and you're back in the app.
- 8
Allow notifications and Photos
Tap Allow for notifications. The first time you save a short, allow adding to Photos.
- 9
Every 7 days (free Apple ID)
With a free Apple ID, iOS stops opening the app after 7 days. Connect the iPhone and press Start in Sideloadly again (your sign-in and settings stay), or switch on Sideloadly's automatic refresh. A paid Apple developer account makes it a year.
Something went wrong?
"Untrusted Developer": do step 5 (VPN & Device Management › Trust).
Developer Mode isn't in Settings: it appears after step 4. Install with Sideloadly first, then look again.
Sideloadly can't see the iPhone: use the cable, unlock the iPhone, tap Trust, and on Windows install iTunes from apple.com.
"App ID limit" in Sideloadly: a free Apple ID can sign a few apps a week; wait a day or remove an older sideloaded app.
The app stopped opening: the 7 days ran out. Press Start in Sideloadly again (step 9).
