Privacy notice

Shunayika ("we") runs Shunayika Shorts at shortsmaker.shunayika.in. This notice explains what personal data we process, why, and your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

• Your Google account basics when you sign in: name, email address and profile picture. We don't receive your Google password.
• Videos you give us: links you paste or files you upload, and what we make from them (transcripts, moment lists, shorts).
• Usage and security records: jobs you run, how much processing they used, sign-in sessions (time, IP address, browser), and an activity log of account changes.
• API keys you add (only if your account uses your own keys), stored encrypted.
• Instagram connection (only if you connect it): your Instagram user ID, username, account type and an access token, stored encrypted.

Why we use it

To provide the service you ask for (making shorts), to decide and manage access, to keep the service secure and within fair-use limits, and to email you about your access. We don't sell personal data and don't use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

• Videos and shorts are deleted after 24 hours.
• Transcripts and moment lists are kept so the same video never has to be processed (and paid for) twice. For files you uploaded, they are deleted with your account.
• Account, usage and security records are kept while your account exists; the activity log is kept for security.

Who processes data for us

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure: hosting and database.
• Groq: speech-to-text (audio of your videos).
• AI model providers reached through our gateway (for example Google, Groq, NVIDIA, Cloudflare and OpenRouter): transcript text, to find moments, write titles and write Hinglish.
• Google: sign-in, and Gmail for our emails to you.
• Cloudflare: network routing when we fetch videos from links.
• Meta (Instagram): only when you connect an account and choose to post.

Some of these providers process data outside India.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies: one to keep you signed in and one that protects forms against forgery. Your browser also remembers unfinished uploads so they can resume. There are no analytics or advertising cookies.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, and nominate someone to act for you. You can delete your account yourself at any time (Workspace → Delete my account); this removes your account, jobs, shorts, keys, Instagram connections and the videos you uploaded.

Grievances

Write to our grievance contact at shunayika@gmail.com. We aim to reply within 7 days and resolve within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

Shunayika Shorts is for people aged 18 and over.

Changes

We'll update this page and, for important changes, email account holders.
